Since the launch of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master the talented storyteller has kept viewers on edge with extensive world-building, a diverse cast of characters, and a gripping narrative featuring angels, evil spirits, and dark forces increasing in power within the city.
Warning: Revealing details for the latest installment of the new season are included.
The Soldiers Table Revealed
Episode 3 concluded with a major cliffhanger and introduced the first table of heroes who will split off from the central cast to embark on their own adventure, separate from the other two tables.
The combat-focused team features the determined fighter (brought to life by the voice actor), Thimble (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).
Dividing the Cast
With a large ensemble, it was obvious from the start that keeping everyone at the same party would be impossible.
This explains, the initial installments of this story serve as an Introduction, connecting the individual narratives before branching into three distinct groups: Fighters, Strategists, and Questers.
Characteristics of the Soldiers Table
According to the DM, the warrior group is for adventurers who are drawn to a traditionally charged fight-heavy narrative style where diplomatic options are few and far between.
At first glance, characters like the squeamish cleric the cleric might seem mismatched, but the actions of the latest installment demonstrate why these five characters are best suited for the combat party.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the team has a clear idea where to head next after a intense initial meeting with the enemy group.
Casimir of the deceased character—whose death initiated the narrative’s action—used the foes for his personal gain, breaking into the secret base, striking Thimble, and taking all the powerful objects to dispose of.
Casimir then cleared his liabilities and ran away to a fortified location in the northern region, above Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.
Character Drivers
Secondly, each character has a specific drive to depart the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, seeks vengeance.
- The knowledgeable figure is familiar with the northern area and cautions that it is a dangerous environment.
- Tyranny and The cleric, having defied his house’s orders to eliminate the target and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
- Yet, their status as key figures in the powerful family could help the party access places they normally couldn’t.
- Moreover, Teor vowed a eternal obligation to Wicander for his salvation and will now follow him everywhere.
Fugitives
Finally, all of them are sought by the authorities that control Dol-Makjar for a range of causes, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- The agile adventurer and The character are known criminals.
- Tyranny and Wicander defied the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- The fighter is marked for death by House Halovar.
This results in them few options but to travel to the northern region in quest for Casimir.
Upcoming Developments
From episode three’s post-show segment, we learn that the warrior group won’t be around next week, leaving the other eight participants to assemble the Questers and Planners tables.
